Vacuum, use a cloth roller or gently wipe with a sponge and lukewarm water. You can also use a foam cleaner and conditioner specially formulated for sheepskin, which gently cleans without drying out the material. Apply the foam to a polyester sponge and gently bathe until the skin or wool is clean. Sheepskin has natural dirt-repellent properties, so by airing and ventilating it regularly in high humidity, it can often stay fresh for a long time without needing to be washed. Avoid exposing sheepskin to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
